They work hard on delivering the best user experience, and they help many users who are willing to build their cross-platform apps at once, using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. As a result, Cordova minor upgrades are being released pretty often.

Some of our colleagues sometimes even consider it as a downside, since it’s hard to keep up. We, on the other hand, encourage such behavior, since it shows active development behind the product. Starting today, our plugins for PhoneGap support Cordova 2.7, and we hope that this will be helpful for those who are eager to upgrade right away. Check out our GitHub repo:

https://github.com/shaders/phonegap-cordova-push-notifications

It is worth mentioning that the official Push Plugin by PhoneGap is not compatible with Cordova 2.7 yet.

Good day, everyone!

Recently there was quite a buzz about one small announcement in the Apple Developer Portal:

Starting May 1, the App Store will no longer accept new apps or app updates that access UDIDs. Please update your apps and servers to associate users with the Vendor or Advertising identifiers introduced in iOS 6. You can find more details in the UIDevice Class Reference.

https://developer.apple.com/news/

We have received numerous requests from our concerned users asking whether they need to change their apps that use Pushwoosh SDK. The answer is:

“No!”

Our team has long known that UDIDs are being deprecated by Apple, and we have never used UDIDs in our SDK and plugins. The hardware ID in our samples has nothing to do with UDIDs. Therefore, please don’t be worried about rebuilding your app according to these new limitations.

It does not mean, that you should not make any updates though. Updates are always good for business; as a mobile development company we learned it the hard way. We always look forward to your new app features and game scenarios!

Your Team.

It’s finally here. Today we present a WordPress plugin for Pushwoosh, which lets you send push notifications along with new posts and pages published on your website.

As always, it’s all very simple. You need to do is to download the plugin directly at

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/push-notifications/

After you install and activate the plugin, you need to add your Pushwoosh Application Code and your API Access Token in the Plugin Settings page:

That’s all! Now you are ready to send push notifications with WordPress. How does it work? It works like a charm.

In the Add New Post or Add New Page section you will see the following field right above the Publish view:

You can enter the text to be sent as a push notification when this page is published and make sure that you have checked the option to send your message.

If you save your page as a Draft, your message will be saved as a part of it, and you can decide whether you would like to send your push notification later.

If you have a Cron script that allows you to publish your pages as Scheduled, the push notification will be sent along with the scheduled page.

Do you still have questions? Feel free to contact us!

Your Team

* This plugin uses our Remote API feature, that is why you need to be on the Premium account (or higher) to use it.

Did you know that you can select Pushwoosh as your service at Zapier? If you do not want to create your own backend, but you would like to simply the hassle of all of your web apps talking to each other, you can pick two of them and trigger an event if one of them following an event in the other.

For instance, you can set up push notifications being sent automatically upon creation of a new webinar in your GoToMeeting account.

PhoneGap users together with our team should feel very special now, since there is a second blog post in a row made by Holly Schinsky on Pushwoosh integration for PhoneGap. This time all eyes are on Geozones! We recommend reading this blog post for those who are interested in adding geo-fencing features to their push notification options.

Pushwoosh is getting better every day (or so we hope), so there are some nice additions already!

For example, you can now set the range of the Geozone directly on the map:

… and we keep them coming.
