Set up periodic Autopushes based on scheduling and segmentation rules

Save your time and efforts with automated push notifications based on rules you establish, and forget about everyday push messaging routine. Use accurately scheduled and tailored Autopushes to increase retention, welcome newcomers, or inform users about new offers.

Use Tag values to define a target audience and set up an Autopush. Pushwoosh will keep audience segments up-to-date and send targeted pushes at the time you specified.

Follow three simple steps to set up an Autopush.

1. Create Autopush Message

Choose a Push Preset or enter a text message to be sent.

To increase the open rate, add a personal touch by using Dynamic Content.

2. Segment the audience

Set up the segmentation rules using default or custom Tags. Keep in mind that active users are the most valuable asset so you don't want them to abandon your app for a long time. In the example below, we create the Autopush segmentation rule targeting users who:

  • achieved game progress between levels 5 and 15 - we can consider them active ones as they've made some progress already;

  • did not open the app for one week or more - they are abandoning your app and we want to bring them back.

3. Schedule the Autopush

Set up the frequency of Autopush Message sending and time at which users should receive it. The message will be sent to all devices matching criteria at the time you specified.

If the Autopush isn't Timezone Sensitive, it'll be sent at a specified time according to your Pushwoosh account timezone settings. To change your account timezone settings, go to My Account -> Edit Profile.

Please note that the first Autopush will be sent after 24 hours from the moment you set Autopushes up.

4. Get statistics

If you want to gather Autopush statistics within a particular Campaign, select the corresponding one from the dropdown list.

You can see statistics of an Autopush on the Message History tab in your Pushwoosh Control Panel.

To see and analyze key metrics of Autopush as a part of a Campaign, go to the Campaign stab and take a look at message sent and open statistics, Conversion Trend and Conversion Rates.
