More July updates just landed. 2 stand out this volume: Pushwoosh now has its own builder for email and in-app content, and your email open stats separate real opens from Apple Mail’s automatic ones.
Here’s what changed 👇
An out-of-the-box builder for email and in-app ⭐
Pushwoosh now has its own builder for email and in-app content. For email, we moved off the 3rd-party tool that used to power the editor — it’s built by Pushwoosh now, no external tool required. The in-app editor has been rebuilt on the same builder.
✋
No worries — everything you’ve already built is safe. Your existing in-apps, templates, and live campaigns keep working exactly as before, and you can still open older templates in the previous editor whenever you need to.
And now that the builder is ours, improvements land much faster, with more on the way. Give both a try and tell us how it feels!
Email opens you can trust 📊
Problem: Apple Mail Privacy Protection pre-loads email images on the user’s behalf, whether or not they opened the message. That inflates your open rate with opens nobody made.
Solution: Pushwoosh now separates Apple MPP-driven loads from real opens and shows the breakdown.
A new opened_by attribute on the PW_EmailOpen event marks each open as user or ampp, so you can segment on genuine opens.
What it changes: Your open numbers reflect people, not machines. The “real” open rate will read lower than the combined number. And that’s the point — it’s the accurate figure, not a drop in performance.
