Make your app the one riders open first, with Pushwoosh

Put the driver's ETA on the lock screen from booking to drop-off. Tell riders the car is outside, even in Focus mode. And reach riders and drivers on push, SMS, WhatsApp and in-app from one profile, instead of building each channel into your own backend.

Why live ride updates matter to riders

95%+
of rideshare and taxi passengers used in-app trip details, such as the driver's name, photo or license plate, in the past year
83.4%
of riders in a 1.4M-ride New York sample stuck to a single ride-hailing app

A mobility personalization platform for every stage of the ride

Each ride produces a stream of events: requested, driver assigned, arriving, started, completed. Pushwoosh turns those events into messages riders see at the right moment and on a channel they can actually receive.

Show the ride on the lock screen

Start a Live Activity when the ride is booked and update it with the driver's ETA and trip progress. Riders follow the car without unlocking the phone. On Android 16, Live Updates do the same in the status bar and notification shade.

Tell riders the driver has arrived

Mark the "your driver is here" push as Time-Sensitive and iOS shows it through Focus and Scheduled Summary. Every minute a driver waits at the curb is a minute they aren't earning.

Start a journey when a ride is requested

A ride_requested event starts the journey, and each status event moves it to the next message. After drop-off, the same journey asks for a rating or offers a discount on the next ride.

Update ride data in the background

A silent push wakes the app for about 30 seconds to update trip data in the background, without showing anything to the rider. Live tracking on the lock screen runs on Live Activities and Live Updates.

Fall back to SMS when push is off

Check whether the rider is subscribed to push, and if not, send the arrival alert by SMS. Login codes go by SMS too.

Get new riders to their second ride

Welcome new riders, explain how payment and safety features work and follow up when the first ride doesn't turn into a second one. The early weeks are when a rider decides which app stays on the home screen.

Driver engagement and retention on the same platform

Onboard new drivers in a chat

Walk new drivers through documents, vehicle checks and their first shift on WhatsApp and push, with reminders when a step stalls.

Store every notice to drivers

Send drivers notices about pay, rules or app changes as push, and keep each one in the driver app's inbox so they can read it again later.

One ride-hailing marketing automation platform, from first booking to daily commute

Pushwoosh works with the whole client journey, offering various channels and tools that fit each step best. Every message is based on the same customer profile.

Onboard

Get new riders to their first ride with mobile push in the customer journey builder, send login codes by SMS through the API, and walk new drivers through sign-up on WhatsApp.

Ride

Show ETA and trip progress by mobile push through the API, alert riders when the driver arrives with a reachability check, and ask for a rating after drop-off in-app in the customer journey builder.

Retain

Turn occasional riders into regulars by email with RFM segmentation, and keep drivers informed about pay and rules in the Message Inbox with advanced segmentation.

Why mobility teams pick Pushwoosh as their mobility customer engagement platform

The notification layer on top of your dispatch

Your dispatch and maps stay where they are. We take their events and positions and turn them into a Live Activity, a Time-Sensitive arrival alert or an SMS. Large ride-hailing companies build this layer in-house, and keeping it working at rush hour takes a team of its own.

Riders and drivers in one platform

Riders and drivers usually use different apps, and each one gets its own journeys, segments and inbox. Your team runs both sides from one place, with the same segmentation and journey tools.

A channel that's actually open

A reachability check in the journey tests whether the rider is subscribed to push. If not, the same journey moves the alert to SMS or WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

There's no single winner, because a taxi app and a multi-service mobility app need different things. Check four points: live ride status on the lock screen, alerts that get past Focus mode, fallback to SMS or WhatsApp, and journeys that start on ride events from your backend. Pushwoosh covers all four in one platform.
